Job summary

Clear Legal & Financial Recruitment seeks an experienced Family Solicitor or qualified Legal Executive to join Derby’s busy Family Law department. Experience with legally aided work is advantageous but not essential.

You will handle a varied caseload, provide high-quality client advice, and support the team. Strong experience in family law and court advocacy is expected, with a view to progression within a well-established team.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor or CILEx Legal Executive with family law experience.
• 3-5+ years' PQE or equivalent fee-earning experience preferred.
• Strong experience across a broad range of family matters.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Family Solicitor or qualified Legal Executive to join an established and busy Family Law department in Derby. Experience of legally aided family work would be advantageous but is not essential.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident legal professional with strong experience across a broad range of family law matters, who can manage their own caseload, provide high-quality client advice and contribute to a supportive team.The successful candidate will have the ability to hit the ground running, with proven experience in family law or a closely related legal environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a varied caseload of family law matters independently.


• Providing clear, practical legal advice and guidance to clients.


• Handling all aspects of family law work, including advising clients throughout their cases.


• Conducting court advocacy and representing clients where required.


• Maintaining strong client relationships and delivering excellent client care.


• Preparing legal documents, applications and correspondence.


• Working collaboratively with colleagues and contributing to the wider department.

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor or fully qualified CILEx Legal Executive.


• Ideally 3-5+ years' PQE or equivalent relevant fee-earning experience.


• Strong practical experience across a broad range of family law matters.


• Previous court advocacy experience.


• Confident dealing directly with clients and providing legal advice.


• Ability to manage a caseload independently and work to deadlines.


• Excellent communication, organisation and client care skills.
