Job Description:

This role involves working as a Private Client Tax Services Manager within the tax team, focusing on tax advisory and compliance services for a diverse client portfolio. The position requires collaboration with colleagues, managing client work including reviewing tax returns, managing HMRC enquiries, and overseeing compliance and advisory projects. The role also includes responsibilities for training, development, and supporting other staff members.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing client work, reviewing tax returns, handling HMRC enquiries, and overseeing compliance and advisory projects.
  • Training and coaching trainees and seniors, and participating in internal training sessions.
  • Supporting staff and partners on chargeable and non-chargeable work.
  • Ensuring deadlines are met and procedures are followed.

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Significant private client tax experience in professional services or industry.
  • Technical expertise in complex client work.
  • Experience in managing people.
  • Interest in developing business development skills.
  • Strong IT skills.

Professional qualifications:

  • Relevant professional qualification(s) such as CTA and/or ACA.

Key competencies:

  • Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills for drafting correspondence and liaising with clients and staff.
  • Leadership skills to supervise and support staff and support partners.
  • Maintaining technical knowledge and providing solutions to issues.
