Job summary

Johnston Carmichael in Dundee is seeking a Private Client Tax Senior to join our tax team. You will manage a portfolio of clients, prepare personal and business tax returns, and liaise with HMRC.

The role requires ATT/CIOT or CA qualifications (or near completion), strong communication, leadership, and a willingness to develop tax knowledge. We offer hybrid/flexible working and a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• ATT/CIOT qualified or near to completion (or experience equivalent).
• Strong leadership of your work and your professional learning.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to positively impact and influence others.
• Relevant experience in tax roles is preferred.
• Good numeracy and written English with strong teamwork.
• CA qualification or equivalent and above.

Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of clients.
• Preparing Partnership Tax Returns for a varied portfolio of businesses.
• Processing Tax Return information and preparing Self-Assessment Tax Returns for clients including trusts.
• Dealing with loss relief claims, pension charges and capital gains tax reliefs.
• Completion of CGT 60 day returns for residential property disposals.
• Liaising with clients and HMRC on basic tax/National Insurance queries.
• Assisting tax teams with general tax administration duties.
• Delegating work to Tax Assistants and students, and developing staff.
