Job summary

Crowe Watson Recruitment is partnering with a leading Liverpool firm of Chartered Accountants to recruit a Private Client Tax Assistant Manager. You will manage a varied portfolio of private clients, including high net worth individuals, trusts, and partnerships, delivering compliance and advisory support.

You will work with Partners and senior management to deliver a high-quality service, while mentoring junior team members and developing the tax team’s capabilities.

Qualifications

• CTA and/or ACA/ACCA qualified, or qualified by experience.
• UK Practice experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of personal and private client taxation.
• Excellent communication and client relationships.
• Ambition to progress towards Manager level.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of private clients, including high net worth individuals, trusts and partnerships.
• Prepare and review complex personal tax returns and computations.
• Provide tax planning and advisory support alongside compliance work.
• Liaise directly with clients, HMRC, and other professional advisers.
• Support and mentor junior members of the tax team.

Crowe Watson Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a leading firm of Chartered Accountants in Liverpool as they look to appoint a Private Client Tax Assistant Manager to join their growing tax team, offering flexible working, a strong company pension, and much more. The successful candidate will manage a varied portfolio of private clients, including high net worth individuals, trusts, and partnerships, providing both compliance and advisory support. You will work closely with Partners and senior management to deliver a high quality service, while also playing a key role in mentoring and developing more junior members of the team.

This firm is known for investing genuinely in the long term development of its people. This role would suit someone with strong technical tax knowledge who is looking to progress towards Manager level within a firm that genuinely rewards ambition.

What is the day-to-day of the role:

• Manage a portfolio of private clients, including high net worth individuals, trusts and partnerships
• Prepare and review complex personal tax returns and computations
• Provide tax planning and advisory support alongside compliance work
• Liaise directly with clients, HMRC, and other professional advisers
• Support and mentor junior members of the tax team

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• CTA and/or ACA/ACCA qualified, or qualified by experience
• Previous experience working within a UK Practice environment
• Strong technical knowledge of personal and private client taxation
• Excellent communication and client relationship management skills
• Ambition to progress towards Manager level
