Job summary

Crowe Watson Recruitment are partnering with an established Chartered Accountants firm in Cleckheaton to recruit an experienced Private Client Tax Manager. You will own a varied portfolio of private clients, providing proactive tax planning while ensuring high compliance standards.

You will mentor junior staff, collaborate with partners on advisory projects, and help shape the private client tax offering within a supportive, career‑focused culture.

Qualifications

• CTA/ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent experience).
• Strong technical knowledge of private client tax matters.
• Excellent client relationship management skills.
• Ability to manage a portfolio autonomously while supporting wider team goals.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of private clients, including HNW individuals, trusts, and partnerships.
• Provide proactive tax planning advice alongside compliance work.
• Review tax returns prepared by junior staff and provide technical guidance.
• Support partners on advisory projects and business development initiatives.
• Mentor and develop junior members of the tax team.

Crowe Watson Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a well-established firm of Chartered Accountants in Cleckheaton, who are on the lookout for an experienced Private Client Tax Manager to join their growing team, offering flexible working, a strong company pension, and much more. The successful candidate will take ownership of a varied portfolio of private clients, including high net worth individuals, trusts, and partnerships, providing proactive tax planning advice while managing compliance to a high standard. You will play a key role in mentoring junior members of the tax team, working closely with partners on advisory projects, and helping to shape the future direction of the private client tax offering.

What is the day-to-day of the role:

• Manage a portfolio of private clients, including HNW individuals, trusts, and partnerships
• Provide proactive tax planning advice alongside compliance work
• Review tax returns prepared by junior staff and provide technical guidance
• Support partners on advisory projects and business development initiatives
• Mentor and develop junior members of the tax team

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• CTA and/or ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent experience)
• Previous experience working within a UK Practice environment
• Strong technical knowledge of private client tax matters
• Excellent client relationship management skills
• Ability to manage a portfolio autonomously while supporting wider team goals
