Job summary

Gerrard White Consulting in Thatcham is seeking a newly qualified or junior Private Client Solicitor to run your own caseload with support. You will handle wills, estates, probate, and related tax matters in a friendly, collaborative team.

Its Private Client practice is ranked in the top tier of the independent legal directories for the region. The role

As a Private Client Solicitor in the Wills, Probate and Estate Planning team, you will manage a varied caseload with appropriate supervision. Your work will include:

• Wills and estate planning
• Lasting Powers of Attorney
• Probate and estate administration, including taxable and non-taxable estates
• Deeds of Variation
• Inheritance Tax matters
• Creation and administration of trusts

You will draft legal documents, move matters forward proactively and build strong relationships with clients, often at sensitive times in their lives. You will work closely with colleagues across the firm and can get involved in marketing and business development to help the team grow.

About you

The firm is open to solicitors from NQ to 2 years' PQE.

You will ideally bring:

• Experience across a broad range of Private Client work, whether gained before or after qualification
• A good working knowledge of Inheritance Tax
• Experience in the creation and administration of trusts
• Excellent client care and communication skills
• Strong organisation and attention to detail
• A proactive, commercially minded approach
• An interest in marketing, networking and business development
• The ability to work well in a supportive team
