Job summary

Henderson Scott Limited is seeking a Private Client Solicitor (Associate/Senior Associate) based in Thame. The role offers a hybrid working arrangement with three days in the office and a mandate to manage complex private client matters for high-net-worth individuals and families.

Ideal candidates will have 7+ years PQE in Private Client law, with experience in wills, probate, trusts and estate administration, and a proactive approach to business development within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• 7+ years' PQE within Private Client law preferred.
• Experience handling Wills, Probate, Estate Administration, Trusts and related matters.
• Strong client care, relationship management and business development skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of private client matters including Wills, Probate, Estate Administration and Trusts.
• Provide practitioner advice on estate planning, wealth preservation and succession planning.
• Build and maintain client relationships and contribute to business development and growth of the Private Client team.
• Mentor junior team members and support colleagues as needed.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Managing a varied caseload of private client matters including Wills, Probate, Estate Administration, Trusts and Lasting Powers of Attorney.
• Advising clients on estate planning, wealth preservation and succession planning matters.
• Providing pragmatic, commercially aware and client-focused legal advice.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and professional contacts.
• Supporting business development initiatives and helping to grow the Private Client practice.
• Mentoring and supporting junior members of the team where appropriate.

You will likely have:

• Ideally 7+ years' PQE within Private Client law.
• Experience handling your own caseload of Wills, Probate, Trusts and Estate Administration matters.
• Strong technical knowledge across Private Client work.
• Excellent client care and relationship management skills.
• A proactive approach to business development and networking.
• Strong communication and organisational abilities.
• A collaborative approach and desire to contribute to the long-term success of the team.
