Job summary

NPA Recruit is seeking a Private Client Solicitor in London to join a team handling wills, probate, estate planning and trusts. The role offers flexibility with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote, and a base salary of £65K–£80K DOE in a central London setting.

Successful candidate will have 5+ years PQE, with experience across private client matters and an ability to manage estates and related tax planning.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ PQE in private client law.
  • Qualified solicitor with solid private client experience.
  • Experience with wills, probate, trusts and estate planning.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice on private client matters including wills, probate, estates and trusts.
  • Draft and review wills, executors' documents, deeds of variation, and estate forms.
  • Assist in tax planning to minimise inheritance tax liabilities.
  • Manage estates: grants of probate, asset collection, debts and distributions.
  • Represent clients in contested will and probate matters and trust disputes.
  • Maintain client records with data protection and confidentiality.
  • Stay updated on private client law changes and communicate updates.
  • Develop client relationships and provide regular updates throughout matters.
  • Collaborate with tax advisors and financial planners for comprehensive solutions.
  • Attend networking events to build reputation in private client sector.

Role - Private Client Solicitor

Financials - £65K to £80K Base DOE

Location - London

Our client, centrally located in London and conveniently situated within a 5-10 minute walk of Buckingham Palace, is seeking to recruit a dedicated individual to join their team. The firm, while not a general practice, focuses on multiple areas of law including Financial, Corporate, Property, and Private Client matters.

Experience

The client will consider applications from qualified solicitors with a minimum of 5 year demonstrable PQE.

The working arrangement offers flexibility, with the option to work 3 days in the office and 2 days remotely from home. Responsibilities
  • 1. Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on a range of private client matters, including wills, probate, estate planning, trusts, and powers of attorney.
  • 2. Draft and review legal documents such as wills, executors' documents, deeds of variation, and estate administration forms.
  • 3. Assist clients in the preparation of tax planning strategies to minimise inheritance tax liabilities.
  • 4. Manage and administer estates, including obtaining grants of probate, collecting assets, paying debts, and distributing inheritances.
  • 5. Represent clients in court proceedings related to contested wills, probate disputes, and trust litigation.
  • 6. Maintain accurate and detailed client records, ensuring compliance with data protection and confidentiality regulations.
  • 7. Stay up-to-date with changes in legislation and regulations affecting private client law, and update clients accordingly.
  • 8. Develop and maintain strong client relationships, providing regular updates and communicating effectively throughout the legal process.
  • 9. Collaborate with other legal professionals, such as tax advisors and financial planners, to provide comprehensive legal solutions to clients.
  • 10. Attend networking events and seminars to expand professional knowledge and build a strong reputation in the private client law sector.
