Devon Private Client Firm is seeking a Private Client Solicitor to join its Devon team on a permanent basis. You will handle a varied caseload covering wills, probate, trusts, and related private client work, with a view to providing high-quality advice and excellent client service.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor with experience in Private Client law.
• Strong understanding of Wills, Probate, Trusts and Estate Administration.
• Capable of managing own caseload with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own varied caseload of private client matters.
• Advise individuals, families and business owners on wills, probate, LPA, trusts and inheritance tax.
• Provide high‑quality legal advice and maintain strong client relationships.
• Progress matters efficiently from instruction through to completion.
• Support Court of Protection matters and vulnerable/elderly clients.

The Role

You will manage your own varied caseload of private client matters, advising individuals, families and business owners on a range of issues including:

• Wills and estate planning
• Probate and estate administration
• Lasting Powers of Attorney
• Trusts and trust administration
• Inheritance Tax and estate planning
• Court of Protection matters
• Advising vulnerable and elderly clients
• General private client and succession planning matters

You will be responsible for providing high-quality legal advice, maintaining strong client relationships and progressing matters efficiently from instruction through to completion.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally:

• Be a qualified Solicitor with experience in Private Client law
• Have a strong understanding of Wills, Probate, Trusts and Estate Administration
• Be confident managing their own caseload with minimal supervision
• Have excellent client care and communication skills
• Be commercially aware and able to develop strong client relationships
• Demonstrate a proactive and professional approach
