Job summary

Aviva Plc is seeking a Private Client Solicitor/Associate Manager in Chichester with hybrid working options. The role focuses on estate planning, trusts, and IHT planning for high-net-worth individuals and families; you’ll lead a high-performing team and develop client relationships.

The ideal candidate will have 4+ years PQE in private client work, with strong mentoring and business development skills, and the ability to collaborate across professional advisers.

Qualifications

• Experience with lifetime inheritance tax planning and taxation of trusts.
• Experience supervising and mentoring junior team members and handling client relationships.

Private Client Solicitor / Associate Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate to join a highly regarded Tier 1 Legal 500 ranked Private Client Advisory team based in Chichester, with hybrid working options available. This role offers the chance to work with a collaborative and high-performing team advising high-net-worth individuals and families.

Your Role and Responsibilities

• Legal and tax aspects of estate and succession planning
• Trusts created during a lifetime or by will
• Tax planning, estate administration, and post-death planning

What We're Looking For

• A strong background in advising on and managing complex wills, probate, lifetime trusts, deeds of variation, powers of attorney and estate administration
• Experience in lifetime inheritance tax (IHT) planning and the taxation and administration of trusts
• Exceptional financial discipline, and the ability to collaborate effectively with other teams and external professionals
• Empathy and compassion to guide clients through personal and challenging circumstances
• Experience in supervising and mentoring junior team members
• A passion for business development and building client relationships
• Familiarity with the private client markets in West Sussex or Hampshire (desirable, but not essential)
• This role is ideally suited to a Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with over 4 years of post-qualification experience (PQE)
