Job summary

Simpson Judge in Worthing is seeking a Private Client Solicitor - Head of Office to join a Legal 500 practice. The hybrid role is suitable for a 6PQE+ solicitor aiming for partnership, with a clear progression path and a strong focus on high-quality estate planning for high-net-worth clients.

You will lead a diverse private client caseload, mentor junior lawyers, and drive business development while upholding exceptional client care and professional standards.

Qualifications

• 6PQE+ in private client work
• Strong technical experience across wills, trusts, probate, estate planning and inheritance tax
• Experience advising HNW clients and managing complex estates
• STEP qualification (or working towards) desirable
• Strong client care, communication and leadership skills
• Collaborative approach with potential progression toward partnership

Responsibilities

• Managing a varied caseload of private client matters including wills, LPAs, probate, trusts, estate administration, Court of Protection and estate planning
• Advising HNW individuals, families, elderly and vulnerable clients on complex private client matters
• Building strong relationships with clients, referrers and professional advisers
• Managing matters with autonomy while contributing to the wider team’s success
• Supporting and mentoring junior team members
• Contributing to business development, networking and the continued growth of the department
