Job summary

A Private Client Solicitor with 3–5 years’ PQE is sought to join a well-established Private Client team in Shirley. You will handle a broad and varied caseload across contentious and non-contentious matters, with real responsibility from day one and supportive colleagues.

You will develop your expertise while building long-term client relationships, supporting business development and community engagement within a collaborative, commercially minded environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with private client experience in a UK law firm.
• Around 3 to 5 years’ PQE (or equivalent experience).
• Good working knowledge of wills, trusts, estate administration, LPAs and Court of Protection matters.
• STEP qualification is desirable but not essential.
• Confident managing a mixed private client caseload.
• Strong attention to detail and a client-first approach.

Responsibilities

• Advising clients on wills, estate planning, inheritance tax and asset protection.
• Managing probate and estate administration matters from instruction through to completion.
• Drafting wills, trusts, lasting powers of attorney and related documentation.
• Advising executors, trustees, attorneys and beneficiaries on duties and responsibilities.
• Handling Court of Protection applications and deputyship matters.
• Advising on trust creation, administration and succession planning.
• Supporting later-life planning, including care fee considerations and capacity issues.
• Liaising with financial advisers, accountants and other professional contacts.
• Delivering clear, practical, client-focused advice tailored to individual circumstances.
• Supporting business development through networking and relationship building.

Our client is looking to recruit a Private Client Solicitor (3 to 5 years’ PQE, or equivalent) to support a broad and varied caseload across both contentious and non-contentious private client matters. You will be trusted with real responsibility from day one, with support from experienced colleagues in a collaborative, commercially minded environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

What We’re Looking For
