GWR Legal Recruitment Ltd is recruiting a Private Client Paralegal to join a respected Solicitors Practice in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. The role supports fee earners on private client matters including wills, probates and LPAs, with training and progression opportunities toward Solicitor or Legal Executive.

A fantastic opportunity has come up for an ambitious legal assistant/paralegal to join a Solicitors Practice in the Abingdon area of Oxfordshire.

The successful candidate will be joining the firms highly regarded private client team, who have an outstanding reputation in the Oxfordshire area for dealing with the broad range of private client matters including things like wills, probate, LPAs and court of protection matters.

The exact duties of the role will be tailored around the experience of the individual but will entail providing support to fee earners in the team and may include tasks such as:

• Dealing with the opening and closing of files, ensuring all ID, AML and compliance checks are completed
• Handling new business enquiries within the team
• Meeting with clients alongside lawyers within the team to receive instructions and advise on their legal issue.
• Keeping clients updated on their matters or clarify points, chase information up over the phone, email or post
• Drafting wills and LPAs under supervision (with training and support given where needed)
• Assisting lawyers within the team with Court of Protection and probate matters.
• Land registry searches.
• Administration duties such as the typing/production of letters, relevant forms and documents.

Experience of working within the area of private client within a law firm would be beneficial but not essential if experience in other areas of law can be demonstrated.

Working alongside experienced lawyers in the team, within one of the areas strongest specialist private client teams, you will receive supervision and training and have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in this specialist area of law. You will be someone who is eager and ambitious to learn and take on increasing levels of responsibility within the team as your experience develops.

Superb progression prospects will be made available to whoever comes into the team with encouragement and support over time to progress and qualify as a Solicitor or Legal Executive.
