Job summary

Clayton Legal is recruiting a Private Client Solicitor to join its North Shields team. This established firm offers a supportive environment, a varied caseload and opportunities for career progression.

The successful candidate will manage probate, wills, lasting power of attorney and Court of Protection matters, develop client relationships and contribute to the growth of the Private Client department. Flexible working arrangements will be considered.

Qualifications

• Experience in Private Client and probate work.
• Excellent client care and communication skills.
• Organised, proactive and able to manage a caseload.
• Can work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied Private Client caseload including probate and estates.
• Handle Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection matters.
• Provide inheritance tax and Trust drafting advice.
• Develop and maintain client relationships and contribute to department growth.

The successful candidate will join an established Private Client team comprising two senior members of the department, a trainee and two secretarial/administrative support staff.

The team provides a collaborative working environment, with the successful candidate having the opportunity to work alongside experienced colleagues while developing their own client relationships and caseload.

The Private Client Solicitor will manage a varied caseload, including:

• Applications for Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration
• Wills and estate planning
• Lasting Powers of Attorney
• Court of Protection matters
• Inheritance Tax and succession planning advice
• Trust advice and drafting

The role will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to take ownership of their caseload while contributing to the continued development and growth of the Private Client department.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have experience in Private Client and probate work
• Demonstrate excellent client care and communication skills
• Be organised, proactive and capable of managing their own caseload effectively
• Work confidently both independently and as part of a team
• Share a commitment to providing high-quality legal services and building strong, lasting client relationships
