Job summary

Grant Thornton UK is seeking an experienced Tax Executive for its Private Assurance team in Milton Keynes or Manchester. You will own complex UK personal tax returns, engage directly with clients and HMRC, and drive the end-to-end tax return process with supportive guidance from management.

Minimum criteria include UK Personal Tax experience, A-Levels or equivalent, and strong Maths/English GCSE results. ATT qualification or progress is preferred and study support is available.

Qualifications

• Experience in UK Personal Tax and handling complex returns.
• ATT qualification (or working towards) with study support available.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a portfolio of private tax clients and manage full tax return process.
• Prepare tax returns and computations for manager review, with technical research when needed.
• Engage with clients and HMRC, building trusted relationships and timely communication.
• Drive the tax return process and manage deadlines and day-to-day tasks.
• Collaborate within the Private Assurance team to share knowledge and improve service delivery.
