Grant Thornton UK LLP is seeking an experienced Private Assurance Technician in Milton Keynes or Manchester to manage complex personal tax returns and related projects with autonomy and expert guidance. You will own client portfolios, apply current tax rules, and communicate clearly with clients and HMRC.

Qualifications

• Experience in UK Personal Tax and strong maths/English GCSEs.
• ATT qualification (or working towards) is desirable and study support is available.
• Highly organised with the ability to meet deadlines and manage expectations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a portfolio of complex clients, handling complex tax returns and projects.
• Take full ownership of the tax return process from start to finish with support from your manager.
• Prepare tax returns and computations, researching legislation and HMRC guidance to form robust opinions.
• Engage with clients and HMRC, building trusted relationships and clear, timely communication.
• Drive the tax return process, prioritising day-to-day tasks and managing Work in Progress.
