Job summary

Manpower Group (UK) is recruiting an Instructor (Band 3) for HMP Foston Hall in Derbyshire. The role involves supervising prisoners in workshop environments, delivering safe, structured work experiences and supporting rehabilitation through skill development.

You will lead workshop activities, enforce health and safety procedures, manage records, and contribute to performance reviews and sentence planning as required. A disciplined, communicative leader is essential.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the selection and induction of prisoners into workshop activities.
• Train prisoners in health and safety procedures, COSHH requirements, and the safe use of tools and equipment.
• Support individual learning and development needs within the workshop environment.
• Set work schedules, monitor productivity, and maintain quality standards.
• Supervise and manage prisoners safely, securely and decently during workshop activities.
• Conduct required prisoner searches and maintain security procedures.
• Maintain accurate attendance, pay, and work records.
• Contribute to prisoner reports, sentence planning, ACCT documentation, VRIRs, SIRs and IEP reviews where required.
