As a Pharmacy Technician, you will provide medicines management to patients within the prison, supported professionally by a prison service pharmacist. Your responsibilities include administering medicines according to prescriptions, advising patients on medicine use, and promoting healthy lifestyles to aid rehabilitation.

You will dispense prescriptions and stock items, supervise assistants in the dispensary, and handle stock control tasks such as stock top-ups, expiry date reviews, and storage checks, reporting deficiencies to the pharmacist.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide medicines management services to the prison.
2. Administer medicines at prescribed times as part of a 7-day rota.
3. Conduct medicines reconciliation for new admissions.
4. Supervise assistants in dispensing services.
5. Be an accredited checking technician or hold a medicines optimisation qualification.
6. Maintain high standards in dispensary, clinics, and wing activities, adhering to SOPs.
7. Assist in writing, updating, and monitoring medicines SOPs.
