Job summary

A leading mental health service provider in the UK is seeking a Preceptorship Psychologist to join their integrated mental health team across two Category C prisons. The role involves providing clinical support, conducting psychological assessments, and delivering psychological interventions. Applicants should have HCPC registration, experience with complex mental health issues, and familiarity with trauma-informed approaches. The position is full-time, with a competitive salary of up to £58,016 per annum based on experience, and includes ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Full HCPC registration as a practitioner psychologist required.
• Knowledge of evidence based psychological therapies relevant to clinical needs in prison.
• Experience providing evidence based psychological interventions to adults.

Responsibilities

• Offer clinical support and oversight to the Integrated Mental Health Team.
• Undertake psychological assessments supporting multi-disciplinary formulations.
• Deliver 1:1 psychological interventions and group intervention.

Skills

Knowledge of evidence based psychological therapies

Understanding of complex mental health issues

Experience providing psychological interventions

Experience with mental health forensic population

Experience delivering CBT and compassion focused therapies

Education
