Role Overview
Preceptorship Psychologist at Practice Plus Group, integrated mental health team across HMP Fosse Way and HMP Five Wells, category C prison supporting males aged 21+.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical support and oversight to the Integrated Mental Health Team (IMHT) through training, supervision, and reflective practice.
- Undertake psychological assessments and support complex multi‑disciplinary formulations.
- Deliver and oversee 1:1 psychological interventions and group intervention as part of the Trauma Informed 'Making Sense' Programme.
- Teach and train healthcare and prison staff; contribute to audit, service evaluation, and research profile.
- Support the clinical leadership team and supervise Assistant Psychologists.
Qualifications
- Full HCPC registration as a practitioner psychologist.
- Knowledge of evidence‑based psychological therapies relevant to the clinical needs of people in prison.
- Experience providing evidence‑based psychological interventions to adults with a range of mental health problems, including complex trauma and neurodiversity.
- Experience working with mental health forensic population; ideal applicants have experience delivering CBT and compassion‑focused therapies.
- Trauma‑informed approaches and familiarity with adult mental health presentations, neurodiversity, and complex trauma.

Hours & Salary
Monday to Friday 9am‑5pm, 2.5 days on each site; full‑time salary up to £58,016 per annum depending on experience.
