Overview
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Preceptorship to Senior Psychologist to join our integrated mental health team at HMP Thameside, a busy category B remand Prison located in South East London, close to Woolwich Arsenal and Plumstead stations. The prison houses around 1250 patients aged 18 plus, including an 18 bed inpatient unit. Within this role you will work with a broad range of complex presentations, and would suit a Psychologist familiar with adult mental health presentations, neurodiversity and complex trauma. You must be familiar with trauma informed approaches and will contribute to and support the clinical leadership team in the development of the psychological therapies service. The role includes supervising Assistant Psychologists, and if required supervision training can be supported as part of your preceptorship.
Hours
Monday to Friday 8am-4pm or 8.30am-4pm
We may also be able to consider part time applicants for this role.
This position is full time, you\'ll receive a salary of up to £52,809 per annum - depending on experience.

What you\'ll be doing
As a qualified, HCPC registered Psychologist, your responsibilities will vary. You will
- Offer clinical support and oversight to the Integrated Mental Health Team (IMHT) in the form of training, supervision and reflective practice
- Undertake psychological assessments and support complex multi-disciplinary formulations
- Deliver and oversee the delivery of 1:1 psychological interventions and group intervention as part of the Trauma Informed \"Making Sense\" Programme
- Deliver teaching and training to healthcare and prison staff where required
- Contribute to the development of audit, service evaluation and research profile as appropriate

- Full HCPC registration as a practitioner psychologist
- Knowledge of evidenced based psychological therapies relevant to the clinical needs of people in prison
- Understanding of complex mental health issues and presentation
- Experience providing evidence based psychological interventions to adults with a range of mental health problems
- Experience of working with mental health forensic population
- Ideal applicants would have experience delivering a range of psychological therapies such as CBT, and compassion focused therapies.
