Job summary

Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to deliver medicines management to prisoners within a secure setting. You will administer and dispense medicines, supervise dispensary staff and assist with stock control, while upholding SOPs and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Medicines management service to prisoners
• Administer medicines against prescriptions
• Dispense prescriptions and stock items
• Supervise dispensary assistants
• Stock control: top-ups, expiry dates, storage
• Accredited checking technician or medicines optimisation qualification
• Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Responsibilities

• Provide medicines administration service to offenders at all times as part of a 7-day rota
• Undertake medicines reconciliation for new prisoner admissions
• Supervise dispensary assistants and ensure dispensing accuracy
• Act as accredited checking technician for final dispensing checks where required
• Maintain high standards in dispensary, clinics, and on the wings
• Assist with developing and monitoring medicines optimisation SOPs
