Job summary

Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 5 Prison Services Pharmacy Technician to work at HMP Exeter on a bank basis. The role supports medicines management and dispensing within the prison environment.

You will join a dedicated team, with opportunities for professional development, and you must be registered with GPHC. This bank position offers flexible hours with potential for further shifts.

Qualifications

• Registration with GPHC as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Experience of working within a pharmacy.
• Previous prison or mental health Pharmacy experience.
• Ability to use computer packages incl Pharmacy Manager, JAC, Microsoft.
• Understanding of mental illness and substance misuse.

Responsibilities

• Provide Medicines Management service to the allocated prison(s) weekly with professional support.
• Oversee ordering/supply of repeat prescriptions.
• Supervise assistants in the dispensary.
• Dispense prescriptions and stock items in the dispensary.
• Work towards accreditation as a checking technician and medicines administration.
• Ensure SOPs are read and adhered to.
