Job summary

Staffordshire County Council, through HMP Swinfen Hall, is seeking a Library Assistant to support prisoners with books, information, activities and resources. The role is 14.5 hours per week (grade 4) and sits in the Prison Library team, coordinating with SCC Library Service staff and Prison Management.

You will provide and develop an essential service, engage with customers to promote literacy, and work across the main library and within the prison.

• Experience of working in a public service environment.
• Delivery of excellent face-to-face customer service.
• Experience of team working.
• Experience of following security and confidentiality procedures.
• Flexible approach to duties.
