• Support reader development activities and events.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary contact for customers in a prison library setting.
• Deliver high-quality, policy-guided library services to inmates and staff.
• Operate the library management system (SIRSI) to input and retrieve data.
• Support reader days, groups, and initiatives like Bookstart and Reading Ahead.
• Answer enquiries in person, by phone, or in writing within guidelines.
• Promote library events and outreach activities on and off site.
• Encourage participation in consultations to improve services and uptake.
• Assist customers with IT help and online job searches when at other sites.
• Assist with stock management, maintenance, and stock policy compliance.
• Support health and safety compliance and personal development activities.
• Participate in training to enhance service delivery and skills development.
• Respect safeguarding policies and maintain professional conduct.
