Job summary

Practice Plus Group's Health in Justice service is seeking a General Practitioner to join the Primary Care team at HMP Doncaster. The post is 16 hours per week across evenings and Saturday sessions, requiring rota flexibility and engagement in reception triage for new arrivals.

The role involves diagnosing, treating and reviewing patients, prescribing medications, and providing clinical governance within a resettlement prison environment. Vetting and security checks apply.

Qualifications

• MBChB or MBBS qualification.
• GMC registration and GP Performers List required.
• RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or willingness to undertake.

Responsibilities

• Respond to medical problems and diagnose, treat and refer as per guidelines.
• Prescribe and review medications; manage repeat prescriptions.
• Provide clinical assessment and leadership within the healthcare team.
• Assist intake of new patients through reception at the prison.
• Conduct clinical risk assessments and implement management strategies.
• Lead multidisciplinary discussions on complex cases and manage results.
