PRINT ROOM SUPERVISOR - SCREEN AND DIGITAL PRINT

Our client based in West Yorkshire help creative and trade customers with print
projects, big and small. With hundreds of products made in-house, they take
designs and ideas to create unique pieces of merchandise and print. They specialise in fast turnaround screen, digital & wide format printing with finishing inhouse, along with a huge capacity on sublimation & embroidery.

Reporting directly to the Production Manager, you will supervise a small team of print operators and print finishing team members and oversee all aspects of digital print and print finishing. The job will consist of ensuring orders are printed and produced at an efficient pace and to a high standard, regularly updating the production manager on the status of production and ensuring they are meeting daily KPIs on impressions, orders processed, and turnaround in the department.

You must have an eye for detail and have high standards when it comes to quality, as well as an understanding of digital print & print finishing to ensure orders are produced in the most timely and efficient way. A key aspect of this role is the ability to multi-task and operate a variety of equipment simultaneously when required. Stock and resource management is also a vital part of the role, in addition to the ability to maintain a clean and tidy workspace and adhere to 5S principles.

Job Duties

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of a small team of print and print finishing team members, ensuring targets are adhered to and deadlines are met.
  • Print & finishing of orders - at an efficient pace and to a high standard.
  • Carry out basic quality and testing checks on goods and maintenance on machines.
  • Stock & resource management.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy workspace which adheres to 5S principles.
  • Appropriate storage of stock and materials in the department.
  • Preventative maintenance of equipment where required.
  • Training and on-boarding of new team members in the department.

Requirements & Experience needed

  • Good interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to maintain a clean and tidy workplace at all times, and adhere to 5S principles.
  • A conscientious, flexible and 'can do' working style.
  • Confidence to deal with difficult situations and to know when to seek guidance from the Department Supervisor.
  • Drive and enthusiasm for delivering quality products.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and independently, in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Willingness to learn and continuously improve.
  • Experience using a variety of print and print finishing equipment.
  • Knowledge of paper stocks and substrates.
  • Supervisor or management experience within the print industry.
  • Working knowledge of G Suite, Microsoft Packages (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and some experience of Print MIS
  • Ability to work independently on given tasks and use initiative.
  • Ability to supervise, as well as work as part of a team.
  • Flexible and positive attitude towards your direct and wider team
  • Patience.
  • Attention to detail.
