About this opportunity

It's an exciting time for water resources in the UK. The regulator Ofwat has announced the largest investment in infrastructure since privatization, with £4 billion for water supply and £2 billion for nature-based solutions in the 2025-30 period. This includes funding for long-term resilience, security of supply, and demand reduction through leakage reduction and smart meter programs.

Our engagement in water resources planning has grown since 2020, including work on SRO investigations, WRMPs, Drought Plans, and WINEP investigations, supporting water companies in their AMP8 schemes and future planning.

Our team collaborates with water companies, regulators, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to achieve positive project outcomes. As a senior team member, you will:

• Manage projects from inception to handover, ensuring scope, budget, schedule, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Bring significant expertise in WRMP development, regional plans, drought plans, water resource modeling, demand management, options development, and environmental assessments.
• Support the wider water resources team and work flexibly across projects.
• Leverage networks to achieve project success.

You will also run commercial projects, bids, and proposals, providing strategic insights for AMP8.

About you

We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds with recent experience in water policy and technical areas, especially those familiar with WRMPs, regional plans, or drought plans. You should have:

• Extensive experience in water resource assessments, planning, and environmental evaluations.
• Knowledge of UK water regulation and project management skills.
• A relevant degree, preferably with postgraduate qualifications in hydrology, hydrogeology, or water resources management.
• Active involvement in professional institutions such as CIWEM, ICE, or the Institute of Water, with chartership preferred.
