Job Description:

As we move into AMP 8 and continue with our growth plans across the UK & Ireland, we're interested in hearing expressions of interest from Water Resource Consultants seeking their next career opportunity.

Find your focus, grow with us, and contribute to solving water challenges facing us in the future. How will you make a difference?

Recognize the vital role water plays in health, environment, and economy? Aware of challenges in providing water amidst climate change, sustainability standards, and population growth? If you want to be part of a team leading in building resilient and sustainable water supply solutions for the UK and internationally, we want to hear from you!

Stantec is a top-tier global consultancy, awarded 'Best Place to Work' at the 2024 NCE Awards. We are known for innovative water supply solutions, environmental, and regulatory services for public and private clients in the UK. We aim for growth in water resources planning and seek experienced professionals (5-10 years) in the water industry to join our teams.

Opportunities are available at various UK locations including Birmingham, Redditch, High Wycombe, Reading, and Shrewsbury, with potential for other locations and international projects.

About this opportunity

This is an exciting time in UK water resources, with significant investment announced by Ofwat for infrastructure and nature-based solutions from 2025-30. Our team has been involved in key initiatives like SRO investigations, WRMPs, Drought Plans, and WINEP assessments, supporting water companies to meet AMP8 goals and future planning.

As a senior team member, you will oversee projects from inception to completion, ensuring scope, budget, and regulatory compliance, while mentoring less experienced staff. You should bring expertise in WRMP development, water resource modeling, demand management, environmental assessments, and regulatory processes.

You will also support broader team activities, leverage networks, and manage projects and bids within budget and quality constraints, providing strategic insights for AMP8.

About you

We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds with recent experience in water policy and technical assessments, including WRMPs, drought plans, and regional plans. You should have extensive experience in water resource assessments, regulatory compliance, project management, and client relationship management.

Qualifications include a relevant degree (geography, geology, environmental science, civil engineering) and preferably a postgraduate qualification in hydrology or water resources management. Active involvement in professional institutions (CIWEM, ICE, Institute of Water) and chartership are desirable.
