Senior Traffic Signals Design Engineer - United Kingdom (Remote)

Job Description

We're seeking an experienced engineer to lead the design of complex signalised junctions, pedestrian crossings, and intelligent traffic control systems across various high-profile infrastructure projects. This role offers a 50/50 split between home working and onsite presence—ideal for surveys, design validations, and stakeholder engagement.

Joining our Engineering Team at Telent, you'll be empowered to innovate and collaborate with technical experts dedicated to impactful work. Contribute to building and maintaining the nation's critical infrastructure, ensuring connectivity and protection 24/7.

Responsibilities of the Senior Traffic Signals Design Engineer:

• Conduct on-site inspections, surveys, commissioning, and supervision
• Prepare technical designs for complex signalised junctions and pedestrian crossings following approved procedures, including technical specifications
• Provide technical oversight on new product or service ideas and develop design plans
• Prepare complex MOVA Designs and MOVA Datasets
• Ensure compliance with design standards such as TSRGD, DMRB, and the Traffic Signs Manual
• Undertake MOVA Validations of complex junctions and roundabouts

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in designing signalised junctions and pedestrian crossings, seeking to advance to a Senior Design Services Engineer role with a fresh perspective on existing traffic signal solutions.

Key Requirements:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Keysignals, OSC Mapper, and AutoTURN software
• Microsoft Office skills
• Knowledge of TOPAS 2500A Traffic Signal Controller Specifications
• Familiarity with MOVA Tools, Datasets, and Linking
• Knowledge of LinSig 3
• Full UK Driving Licence
