Job summary

Highland Council is seeking a Principal Technical Manager (Structures) to lead the Structures Team and provide professional advice while ensuring compliance with the applicable codes of practice. The post is responsible for overseeing the Technical Approval of highway and other structures.

In addition, you will manage all bridge assets across the Highlands, with the structures team producing designs, carrying out structural assessments, and preparing reports, drawings and contract documents for

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer - Member and registered with the Engineering Council.
• IStructE membership and recognition may be preferred.
• Willingness to travel across the Highland Area with access to personal transport.

Job Purpose: To lead the Structures Team and provide professional advice and ensure compliance with the appropriate codes of practice. The structures team produce designs, carry out structural assessments, prepare reports, drawings and contract documents for works related to bridges and other road structures.
