This is a chance to join a team involved in long-term trunk road network management contracts in both the Northeast and Southwest regions of Scotland, backed by agreements that span 8 to 12 years. In addition to these significant projects, you'll also contribute to a broad portfolio of bridges, highways, and civil engineering works for clients such as Transport Scotland, local authorities, and national contractors.

As a senior member of the design team, your role will include:

·Managing structural and bridge design projects from initial scoping and costing to final delivery and handover.
·Producing and reviewing detailed engineering designs, calculations, reports, and drawings in line with industry standards and client expectations.
·Supporting junior staff in their professional development, acting as a mentor and Delegated Engineer.
·Liaising with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders during project delivery and meetings.
·Contributing to tender submissions and business development efforts.
·Promoting and ensuring adherence to best practices in health, safety, and environmental management.

You will bring:
·A strong background in structural and bridge engineering, typically gained in a similar senior or lead engineer role.
·Proven ability to deliver high-quality technical solutions, manage risks, and align with client and regulatory requirements.
·Proficiency with relevant design software and tools (e.g., LUSAS, Autodesk Structural Bridge Design).
·Experience with CDM regulations and a solid understanding of project risk management.
·Awareness of interdisciplinary coordination and project integration.
·Incorporated or Chartered membership with ICE or IStructE (or equivalent), or working towards achieving it.
·A degree (BEng/MEng or equivalent) in Civil or Structural Engineering.

You'll be joining an organisation that values its people and supports your professional and personal development. Here's what you can expect:
·Career Growth - A structured career pathway with mentoring, professional recognition bonuses, and ongoing development.
·Flexibility - Hybrid and part-time working options to support work-life balance, with offices located throughout the UK.
·Wellbeing Support - Access to wellbeing initiatives including a health cash plan, GP services, mental health support, and wellbeing champions.
·Inclusive Culture - A commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion, supported by dedicated employee networks.
