Job summary

Leonardo in Luton is seeking a highly experienced Systems Engineer to provide technical leadership in GCAP and FCAS concept development. You will shape architectures, manage requirements, and lead survivability-focused studies across EW, sensors, and mission systems with a strong stakeholder focus.

You will mentor engineers, apply systems engineering life-cycle practices, and collaborate with partners to deliver coherent, achievable solutions that meet programme objectives.

Qualifications

• Honours degree or equivalent experience in a science field.
• Experience or desire to gain electronic warfare domain knowledge.
• Knowledge of systems engineering lifecycle: requirements, architecture, integration, verification.

Responsibilities

• Define survivability measures and performance requirements.
• Evaluate design trade-offs and influence architectures.
• Lead survivability studies with cross-team collaboration.
• Mentor junior engineers and share best practices.
• Communicate complex issues to customers and senior programme leadership.
