Job Description:

Leonardo is looking for skilled individuals to join their Systems Engineering Function to work on a large-scale EW integration programme. We seek engineers to analyze, model, and simulate radio frequency (RF) signals and the effects of system and environmental influences.

As a team member, you will have the ability to hold Design Authority level of competency and lead the design, integration, and testing of advanced RF systems for vehicle platform integration.

Candidates with broad Systems Engineering Lifecycle expertise in the Defence industry, coupled with Electronic Attack and/or Electronic Surveillance domain knowledge, should apply.

Key Responsibility Areas

What you will do:

Your primary responsibility is to provide expertise in RF systems engineering and signal processing for electronic warfare subsystems. Key subsystems include transmit and receive antennas, high power RF amplifiers, electronic receivers, and waveform generators.

Your role includes deriving EA/ES sub-system requirements and liaising technically with sub-contractors on Statement of Work deliverables and acceptance criteria for inclusion in the overall programme's compliance matrix.

You will apply your RF communication systems knowledge to generate realistic models and simulations of threat systems and assess the effectiveness of electronic attack and surveillance concepts against such threats in operational environments.

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required

Essential:

• In-depth knowledge of RF communication systems
• Strong understanding of Signal Processing techniques
• Significant understanding of EW (EA/ES) environmental threat analysis
• Modeling experience using Matlab/Simulink
• Strong interpersonal skills for technical discussions
• Ability to operate at strategic & tactical levels and resolve detailed technical issues
• Ability to define & influence requirements and design decisions within project and customer environments
• Experience developing systems conforming to Open Architectures & defence standards
• Ability to define test & acceptance criteria and assess system compliance
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or related discipline
• Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills
• Ability to achieve Security clearances to SC minimum

Desirable:

• Knowledge of Land CEMA Architecture and associated components
• Experience working collaboratively in large teams for business improvements
• Leadership or technical management experience
• Experience in planning, estimating, and defining engineering tasks
