Job summary

Outsource UK, partnering with a leading engineering and consultancy organisation, is recruiting a Principal Structural Engineer for the UK market. The role spans design, coordination and delivery of structures across diverse sectors including industrial, education, government and commercial.

You will lead major projects, manage resources, and maintain client relationships while upholding quality, safety and sustainability standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer status, ideally with IStructE or ICE.
• SC Clearance or eligibility to obtain SC Clearance.
• Strong technical expertise across diverse structural projects.
• Excellent understanding of structural principles, materials and construction methods.
• Experience using structural analysis and design software.
• Strong report writing and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and reviewing deliverables.
• Experience leading teams and managing resources.
• Commitment to health, safety and quality.
• Passion for sustainable design and engineering excellence.
• Collaborative approach and willingness to mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and coordination of structural engineering projects.
• Manage technical and commercial project delivery.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including engineers and BIM specialists.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Review and assure the quality of engineering outputs.
• Provide technical leadership and promote best practices.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and colleagues.
• Champion sustainable engineering solutions and innovative design.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and regulatory requirements.
