Job summary
Stantec is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to lead the design and delivery of structural solutions for hydropower and dam projects across the UK. Based in a central location with flexible hybrid working, you will guide projects from concept through construction, collaborating with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, compliant and innovative infrastructure.
You will bring Chartered or Incorporated status (ICE/IStructE), a strong background in civil/structural engineering,
Qualifications
- BEng or MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status or working towards ICE/IStructE.
- Experience leading structural projects across infrastructure.
- Proficiency in structural analysis and hand calculations.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Hydropower and dam projects experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead structural engineering delivery of major energy projects.
- Prepare calculations, reports and design packages for regulators.
- Provide technical oversight to engineers and technicians.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with design standards and QA processes.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in design delivery.
