We currently have an outstanding opportunity for a Principal Offshore Structural Engineer to join our rapidly expanding team in our UK offices.
What you will do:
- Coordinate the delivery of our global portfolio of projects through various development stages (conceptual, FEED, detailed design) for offshore wind farm development or asset management, developing innovative solutions.
- Provide effective leadership to a small team of offshore structural engineers, ensuring work packages are delivered according to customer requirements and industry standards.
- Design and analyze fixed and floating structures for the offshore renewables sector, contributing to climate change mitigation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead projects or collaborate with lead engineers to ensure successful completion within budget and timeframes.
- Perform structural analysis and design of offshore wind structures, including foundations, meteorological masts, and substations.
- Exhibit expertise in monopiles, jackets, or floating systems, using analysis techniques like pile-soil interaction, PISA soil analysis, and dynamic loading analysis.
- Provide leadership within a multidisciplinary team, fostering innovation and proactivity.
- Ensure design work complies with procedures and quality plans, and is reviewed and approved appropriately.
- Be responsible for delivering assigned work packages.
Experience, Education, and Other Requirements:
- Chartered engineer with over 12 years of offshore industry experience, focusing on steel design for wind turbine foundations or substations.
- Experience in offshore wind farm foundation design, familiar with industry standards, regulations, and codes.
- Proficiency in software such as ANSYS, SESAM, or SACs, STAADPRO.
- Strong theoretical knowledge supported by practical experience in offshore structural activities, transportation, and environmental loading.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, adaptable to diverse environments.
- Proactive, assertive, with a positive attitude and capacity to mentor junior engineers.
