Job Description:

Wood is currently recruiting for a Principal Civil Structural Designer to join us in Reading - UK. This is an 11-month contract with a high likelihood of extension. The position supports major FEED/EPC Onshore Energy Sector projects.

The ideal candidate will be technically strong with experience in the Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Refining, LNG, or Power Generation industries. Previous experience in a similar role is highly beneficial.

• Minimum HNC or equivalent qualification
• At least 15 years of experience as a Principal Civil/Structural Designer in sectors such as Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Power Generation, Pharmaceutical, or Civil Infrastructure.
• Experience in Middle-East execution with National Oil Companies is preferred.
• Experience managing multi-disciplinary CSA teams, including workshare execution.
• Experience with greenfield and brownfield civil and structural works.
• Proficiency in CAD design and management of deliverables, including 2D Bentley MicroStation (V8i, CE) and/or AutoCAD 2020.
• Proficiency in 3D visualization packages such as SmartReview and/or Navisworks.
• Knowledge of 3D software packages including Intergraph Smart-3D, MicroStation OpenRoads Designer, and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Knowledge of PDF review tools like Adobe PDF and BlueBeam.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and good IT skills.
