• 8+ years’ experience in offshore wind foundation design, especially monopiles.
• Strong grasp of fatigue, structural stress analysis & global design codes.
• Chartered (or close to it) with expertise in monopile primary steel design.

Principal / Lead Structural Engineer – Monopile Steel Design ️

(Offshore Wind Foundations)

Ready to lead world-class monopile design projects in offshore wind?

My client is looking for a Principal / Lead Engineer with deep technical expertise in primary steel design to join a passionate, fast-growing team pushing boundaries in the renewables sector. ️

You’ll be the go-to expert for structural integrity, fatigue analysis, and optimisation of monopile foundations — working on cutting-edge tools, leading small teams, and helping shape the future of offshore wind.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead the design and analysis of monopile foundations using industry and in-house software
• Run fatigue & load calculations and guide structural integrity decisions
• Collaborate across teams – geotechnical, secondary steel, marine, and more
• Liaise with clients, certifiers & regulators to ensure top-tier standards
• Deliver high-quality reports, presentations, and technical insights
• Drive innovation in materials, methods, and design optimisation
• Keep projects on track – timelines, budgets, and quality all in check
• Mentor junior engineers and lead technical project delivery

Who they are looking for

• 8+ years’ experience in offshore wind foundation design, especially monopiles
• Strong grasp of fatigue, structural stress analysis & global design codes
• Skilled with design tools (Sesam or similar; in-house software training provided)
• Deep understanding of marine loads, soil-structure interaction & install methods
• Team leader with great communication and mentoring skills
• Based in (or willing to travel to) London or Bristol — hybrid working

Your Credentials

• Degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or related engineering field
• Chartered (or close to it)
• Expertise in monopile primary steel design and global analysis essential
• Broad technical awareness is a huge plus
