Morson Group is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to design, develop and test safety-critical software for PLC and SCADA-based control systems within the Dreadnought Platform Management System. You will lead and mentor engineers, contribute across the software lifecycle, and work with stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.

The role requires strong problem-solving abilities, independent working style, and excellent communication.

Qualifikationen

• Experience in software and equipment development.
• Experience developing software for PLC-based and/or SCADA-based control systems, lifecycle.
• Ability to support software build configuration and configuration management.
• Strong written and verbal communication with technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and deliver tasks.
• Desirable: submarine/marine/defence control system experience.

Aufgaben

• Design safety-critical PLC and SCADA application software for the Dreadnought PMS.
• Develop safety-critical software for PLC-based and SCADA-based control systems.
• Test software modules before handover to the system testing team.
• Configure software builds to support testing activities at different levels.
• Maintain software configuration management throughout the development lifecycle.
• Coordinate with other engineering teams and external customers to support successful delivery.
• Take responsibility for the delivery of allocated engineering work packages and report to the Engineering Manager.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering colleagues.
• Communicate technical information clearly and work with stakeholders at different levels.
• Identify problems and develop effective solutions and contribute to process improvements.
