Venture Builder

Improbable is a Venture Builder. We are working with leaders to create businesses in AI transformation, the metaverse and web3. We both create businesses from scratch and invest in existing businesses. Our central services teams work with ventures to help them achieve success; including early stage prototyping and initial product development where this role sits.

Your Mission

As a Principal Full Stack Engineer at Improbable, you will work with Ventures to help them get to market faster. You will work with their leadership team to design, prototype and launch initial versions of their product. This is a hands-on, strategic role where you will collaborate with executives, working all the way from identifying customer problems. Working with our team of AI experts, you’ll leverage your management consulting expertise, industry knowledge, and technical acumen to design impactful solutions that drive significant business outcomes.

What You’ll Be Doing

1. Design, build, and maintain distributed cloud infrastructure services in production.
2. Independently scope and lead technical initiatives, laying the groundwork for early-stage products to evolve iteratively.
3. Contribute to the product roadmap, help set the vision and strategy for the venture, and act as a sounding board for venture leadership.
4. Develop and execute against both short- and long-term roadmaps.
5. Make effective tradeoffs that consider business priorities, user experience, and a sustainable technical foundation.
6. Drive alignment with non-technical stakeholders for technical deliverables.

1. Experience working directly with non-technical stakeholders and reporting to non-technical leadership.
2. Professional experience maintaining production services.
3. Experience with any popular cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure).
4. Proficient in some modern programming languages like TypeScript, Python, Go, etc.
5. Professional experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Salt, and container orchestration technologies.
6. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
7. Experience reviewing code to maintain a high standard of code quality across the team.
8. A self-starter mindset, capable of context-switching between various projects, codebases, and concepts.
9. A prototype and rapid iteration mentality, using pragmatic delivery methods to have a fast impact and quickly identify the best solution for a problem.
10. Able to create tutorials, guides, or other important documentation.
