Job summary

Raytheon UK is seeking a Principal Software Engineer for onsite roles in Gloucester or Manchester. The position requires current eDV clearance and will operate in our Cyber business. You will design and build software across domains in a mature, agile environment.

You will work with React/NextJS, TypeScript, Python or Java, and cloud services, contributing to milestones and continuous improvement in a defense and aerospace setting.

Qualifications

• Core Software Engineering with JavaScript frameworks (React/NextJS), TypeScript, Python or Java.
• REST API development using OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Cloud services (AWS or Azure).
• Containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).
• Relational databases (PostgreSQL).
• Elasticsearch/OpenSearch
• Unit testing and automation (Mocha/Jest/Cypress).
• Experience in an Agile delivery team.

Required Experience

• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible)

• Unit testing and automation / Testing frameworks (e.g. Mocha, Jest, Cypress)
• Experience working in an Agile delivery team
