SPX Technologies is seeking an experienced Principal Software Architect to define and drive the technical vision for our evolving software ecosystem. You will shape how hardware and firmware platforms integrate with cloud, mobile, and desktop applications, ensuring a scalable architecture that supports product evolution.

The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on validation, guiding architectural direction, governance, and practical prototyping where needed to deliver tangible results

Qualifications

15+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on architecture
Ability to design end-to-end systems spanning firmware, cloud, and applications
Proven track record delivering scalable, maintainable platforms

Responsibilities

Define end-to-end architecture across firmware, cloud, and desktop/mobile apps
Set tech strategy, standards, and governance across software org
Guide architecture decisions and balance delivery with technical debt
Assess current landscape and create a transformation roadmap
Enable delivery through clarity, alignment, and proactive guidance
Prototype ideas to validate feasibility and inform decisions
Communicate architectural concepts effectively to executives and engineers
