Job summary

Zapp is looking for a Principal Product Engineer focusing on React Native and Expo to deliver a world-class mobile and web experience across platforms. You will drive AI-powered features, shape product direction, and own end-to-end delivery from concept to production.

You will work in a hybrid setup from London, collaborating with a fast-moving team, building scalable systems, and mentoring others while maintaining a strong user-focused mindset.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of production software experience across mobile, backend, frontend, or full-stack.
• Deep React Native and Expo expertise with iOS/Android and B2C apps.
• Strong TypeScript fundamentals and production-grade code.
• Experience using AI to augment development and product work.
• Product-minded with measurable customer impact and ownership mindset.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across teams.
• Comfortable delivering in uncertain environments and driving initiative.

Responsibilities

• Develop the mobile and web experiences in React Native and Expo across iOS, Android, and web.
• Incorporate AI into daily workflows and share patterns with the team.
• Define how AI creates customer value and prototype high-impact bets.
• Own end-to-end delivery from design to production.
• Be on-call and support production deployments.
• Keep the app fast, secure, and reliable.
• Set technical direction across the mobile stack and mentor others.
