Job summary

Zapp is seeking a Principal Product Engineer for React Native to own the full lifecycle of mobile and web experiences across iOS, Android, and web. You’ll shape how AI is embedded in product development, set technical direction, and drive end-to-end delivery from concept to production.

You’ll collaborate with a fast-moving team in a hybrid London setup, with a strong emphasis on performance, reliability, and user-centric product thinking.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building production software across mobile, backend, frontend, or full-stack.
• Deep React Native and Expo with iOS/Android experience and B2C apps.
• Strong TypeScript fundamentals.
• Use AI daily and bring patterns that help others.
• Think product, not just code, measuring customer impact.
• Production minded with mobile performance, stability and security.
• Care about craft like design systems and UI feel.
• Able to handle uncertainty and push forward without a defined path.
• Write automated tests and ship trusted code.
• Excellent written and spoken communication; share learnings and patterns.
• Act as a force multiplier by coaching others.

Responsibilities

• Build mobile and web experiences in React Native and Expo across iOS, Android, and web.
• Integrate AI into daily development and share patterns with the team.
• Define how AI contributes to product value and prototype high-impact bets.
• Own delivery end-to-end from design to production.
• Participate in on-call and production reliability.
• Maintain fast, trusted apps and strengthen release processes.
• Set architectural direction across the mobile stack and mentor peers.
