Qualifications

• HCPC registered Clinical Scientist
• BSc (Hons) Physics or equivalent
• MSc in Medical Physics or equivalent
• PhD or equivalent R&D experience
• Registered on the RPA2000 list of Medical Physics Experts

Responsibilities

• The Radiotherapy Physics group provides physics support to Clinical Oncology for Radiotherapy and Specialised Services. The postholder will assist higher grade scientists in delivering scientific support as directed.
• State registered Clinical Scientist and a Medical Physics Expert portfolio (or ready for submission) as defined by ionising radiation regulations for Radiotherapy or Specialised Services.
• Gain broad experience in radiotherapy including brachytherapy and low energy proton treatments; contribute to specialist topics subject to departmental priorities.
• Support flexible working practices to meet service needs and contribute to staff training and development.
• Undertake quality control, dosimetry, and treatment planning activities as required by the unit.
