Job summary

The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust in Liverpool invites applications for a Principal Clinical Scientist (Band 8a) to provide physics support to Radiotherapy and related services. The post holder will liaise with the Higher Principal and Consultant Clinical Scientists and work within a large physics team.

The role requires State Registration as a Clinical Scientist and accreditation or readiness to submit for Medical Physics Expert status.

Qualifications

• HCPC registered Clinical Scientist with Radiotherapy experience.
• Proven CPD and development of scientific practice.
• Experience with radiotherapy dosimetry and quality control.
• Knowledge of radiation protection legislation in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Provide physics support to Radiotherapy and Specialised Services as directed by senior staff.
• Be state registered and aligned with Medical Physics Expert portfolio requirements.
• Collaborate with imaging, radiotherapy, and proton therapy teams to deliver services.
• Contribute to staff training, supervision, and performance management.
• Engage in teaching, research dissemination, and CPD activities.
