Job Description:

The role

Involves working on client sites across the UK, with potential for UK-wide assignments lasting from a day to over a week. Opportunities for international work may also arise.

A broad range of duties includes:

  1. Development of new and existing services based on client and industry needs.
  2. Development of process engineering standards, manuals, methodologies, work processes, procedures, and enabling tools and systems for clients.
  3. Audits and reviews of practices and procedures at client sites to ensure compliance with documented procedures and good practices.
  4. Interfacing with site management, engineering, operations, health and safety, and leading or conducting studies to manage process safety risks.
  5. Onsite surveys of chemical process plants to verify documentation accuracy and produce as-built documents.
  6. Hazard identification and risk assessments including HAZID, HAZOP, and LOPA.
  7. Providing process engineering expertise for design, engineering, EHS studies, and project reviews.
  8. Delivery of internal strategic development projects.
  9. Professional development of self and team members.
  10. Supporting marketing and communication efforts.
  11. Building and maintaining client relationships, acting as a strategic contact.
  12. Contributing to client sustainability and growth through cost-effective solutions.
  13. Engaging with third-party suppliers to deliver comprehensive services.
  14. Ensuring client expectations are met regarding quality, cost, and delivery.
  15. Building a team to achieve business and revenue goals.
  16. Fostering a collaborative work environment.
  17. Managing multiple projects simultaneously with organizational integration.

About you

Qualifications and skills include:

  • Chartered engineer with a degree in chemical or process engineering.
  • Experience in design principles, processes, and standards for process plant.
  • Knowledge of legislation such as COMAH and DSEAR, and related standards.
  • Experience with regulation of COMAH is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in teams.
  • High integrity and sound judgment.
