Job summary

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure’s Internal Oracle Database (IOD) team is seeking a Software Development Engineer with strong DBA and database systems experience to design, build, and operate scalable database services serving OCI workloads.

You will join a Tier-0 team focusing on automation, self-healing, and reliability improvements, shaping the next generation of IOD data platforms and enabling OCI’s growth.

Qualifications

• Strong DBA experience with Oracle Database and related tech.
• Proven ability to design and operate large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience building automation for provisioning, patching, and recovery.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and operate large-scale database platform services for OCI workloads.
• Build highly available, scalable distributed systems to manage databases globally.
• Develop automation for provisioning, lifecycle management, and backups.
• Collaborate with architects, SREs, and service teams to meet availability and performance targets.
• Drive reliability, observability, and operational efficiency for Tier-0 cloud services.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues across database internals and cloud infrastructure.
• Contribute to software designs and automation strategies for the OCI platform.
