Job summary

Companies House is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Database Development) to support, maintain, and develop data services using Oracle PL/SQL, with PostgreSQL knowledge advantageous. The role spans database development, administration, and support across development, testing, and production environments.

The team modernises legacy platforms, delivering secure, scalable data components and CI/CD pipelines while enabling cloud migration and DevOps practices for national services.

Qualifications

• Experience developing Oracle database solutions using PL/SQL with performance optimisation.
• Strong background in database administration, data modelling and data extracts.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automating deployments.
• Knowledge of cloud migration and working in Agile teams.

Responsibilities

• Use PL/SQL, database administration, and data development to support data platforms.
• Collaborate with analysts, customers, developers, and support teams to deliver data solutions.
• Work in an Agile environment across multiple projects.
• Install, configure, and maintain solutions per technical standards and Change Management.
• Develop and maintain automated deployment pipelines using Concourse CI/CD.
• Investigate incidents and perform root-cause analysis to improve reliability.
• Support migration of on-premises services to public cloud platforms and modernization efforts.
• Promote Infrastructure as Code and DevOps practices to improve efficiency.
